Day 1 : Delhi / Rishikesh :
You are welcomed at the Delhi airport by our local agency representative or your French-speaking guide who will welcome you to India. Then, depart for Rishikesh, where you will be transferred to your hotel upon arrival. In the afternoon, you will visit Ram Jhula, a 228 m bridge suspended over the Ganges since 1986, and the Laxman Jhula bridge, approximately 137 m long, named after Lakshmana (Laxman), the younger brother of Lord Rama. The bridge is flanked by temples, including the famous Lakshmana temple. You will then discover the Parmarth Niketan Ashram and the Geeta Bhawan Ashram. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 : Rishikesh / Haridwar / Rishikesh (20 km / 40 min)
In the morning, you will participate in a yoga session near the banks of the Ganges. After breakfast, depart for Haridwar where you will visit the famous Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi temples by cable car. Next, you will visit other important temples in Haridwar such as the Emma temple, the Maya Devi temple, the Pawan Dham temple, and the Param Shivling temple. Return to the hotel, then visit Triveni Ghat to admire the Ganga Aarti, a fire ceremony celebrated by priests as a daily tribute to the sacred Ganges river. You will also see devotees releasing tiny clay oil lamps, their dancing flames floating downstream before disappearing. The atmosphere is very different from the sunrise ceremonies. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 : Rishikesh / Rudraprayag (136 km / 4h20)
After breakfast, depart for Rudraprayag. On the way, you will stop to admire the confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers at Devprayag, followed by a visit to the temples. Next, you will see another confluence of the Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers at Rudraprayag. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 : Rudraprayag / Joshimath (112 km / 3h30) / (Trek 3 km / 10-12h)
After breakfast, you will go on a 3 km hike to see the Karthik Swami temple located at 2,545 m altitude. On the way, you will have your meal and then enjoy the magnificent view of the confluence of the Pindari and Alaknanda rivers at Karan Prayag and the Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers at Nanda Prayag. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 : Joshimath / Bhavishya Badri / Joshimath (21 km / 41 min) (Trek 6 km / 5h)
After breakfast, you will go on a 6 km hike towards Bhavishya Badri (3,641 m), one of the Panch Badri and a sacred place in Hinduism. On the way, you eat lunch. Then, after visiting Auli, which is located at 2,900 m altitude and known for skiing, you will take a cable car through conifer and oak forests. At the top, you can see snow-capped mountain peaks. In the evening, you will go sightseeing near Joshimath-Shankaracharya math, where you will discover the Narsingh, Kalpavriksha, and Bhavishya Kedar temples. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 : Joshimath / Rudraprayag (112 km / 3h30)
After breakfast, depart for Rudraprayag, where you will visit the Mahadeva Camille temple. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 : Rudraprayag / Rishikesh: (136 km / 4h20)
Early in the morning, you will depart for Rishikesh. Arrival and check-in at the hotel.Then, you will visit the Dhari Devi temple as well as the Vasisth cave. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 8 : Rishikesh / Delhi (246 km / 5h) / Flight back
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Delhi to catch your return flight.
