Day 1: Arrival in Delhi

You are welcomed at the Delhi airport by a representative of our local agency or your French-speaking guide to welcome you to India. They will assist you with the transfer to the hotel we have reserved for you for the night.

Lunch, followed by an afternoon dedicated to discovering Delhi.

Bathed by the sacred waters of the Yamuna, Delhi has twice been an imperial capital, first with the Mughals, then in 1911 with the British. The city is divided into two very contrasting parts: New Delhi, the Victorian city with its wide avenues, business district, and parliament gathered around Connaught Place; and Old Delhi, the old city and capital of Muslim India, with its bustling bazaars. The old city houses the Red Fort, a testament to the power of the Mughal emperors, and the country’s largest mosque, Jama Masjid.

You will explore Old Delhi on foot, then visit Raj Ghat, the mausoleum of Mahatma Gandhi.

In the evening, you will share a moment of devotion with the Sikh community at the Bangla Sahib temple.

Day 2: Delhi - Bagdogra (domestic flight) / Bagdogra - Darjeeling (70 Kms / 3h)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Bagdogra, followed by a road trip to Darjeeling (2,100m altitude), which stretches along a hillside covered with tea gardens. You will arrive by late afternoon and settle into the hotel.

You will have some free time to explore the picturesque Chowk Bazaar and visit the colonial quarter with the former residence of the British Raj.

Day 3: Darjeeling

Early in the morning, you depart to reach Tiger Hill, located at an altitude of 2600m. There, you witness a spectacular sunrise over Mount Khangchendzonga (the 3rd highest peak in the world). On the way back, you visit Ghoom Monastery, which houses a magnificent 4.6-meter-high statue of the Future Buddha, before exploring the Batasia Loop.

After breakfast, there's an excursion to Ghoom aboard the famous "Toy Train."

In the afternoon, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre (closed on Sundays), and the Japanese Temple.

The evening is free for shopping or leisure activities.

Day 4: Darjeeling / Namchi / Gangtok (130 Kms / 5h)

After breakfast, depart for Gangtok. On the way, visit SamdrupTse Hill Road and Char Dham at Namchi.

Arrival in Gangtok by late afternoon and settle into the hotel.

Day 5: Gangtok

After breakfast, you join Tashi Point of view. Located about 8km from Gangtok City, this viewpoint offers a breathtaking panorama of the snow-capped peaks of Kanchenjunga (weather permitting).

At about 2000m altitude not far from Tashi, you visit Ganesh Tok, a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh, before discovering Hanuman Tok. These places, well known to tourists, are especially appreciated for the beautiful landscapes they offer.

In the afternoon, visit Floralies, a family and artisanal tea company known worldwide, before leaving for the visit of the Institute of Tibetology. Founded in 1958, this institute has sponsored and promoted much research on Tibetan religion, history, language, art and culture, including Sikkim. You also visit the Chorten Dro-dul, Buddhist stupa, Enchey Monastery and Banjakhri Falls.

Return to Gangtok.

Day 6: Gangtok / Kalimpong (80 kms / 3h)

After breakfast, you leave for the pleasant city of Kalimpong by walking through hills where rhododendrons and cardamoms grow. This region is famous for its floriculture and mild climate. You will discover DurpinDara Monastery and Zong Dog Fo-Brang before continuing to ThongsaGompa, founded in 1692. Finally, you can admire the amazing local Catholic Church.

When you arrive visit a pineview nursery.

A walk in the market allows you to calmly end your day before joining the hotel to settle there.

 

Day 7: Kalimpong / Bagdogra / Guwahati (70 kms / 3h) (Domestic flight)

After breakfast, head to Bagdogra (by road) to catch your flight to Guwahati.

Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel.

In the evening, enjoy a sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra River.

Day 8: Guwahati

After breakfast, your day is dedicated to exploring Guwahati. You will visit the Kamakhya Temple, located at the top of the Lachal Hill, about 300 meters above sea level. The temple complex includes not only many other temples but also a community of people connected to it. Besides the main Devi temple, it also features other major temples: Devi Kali, Tara, Bagala, Chinnamasta, Bhuvaneswari, Bhairavi, and Dhumavati.

Visit Sankardev Kalakshetra, located in a magnificent setting and inaugurated in 1998, is a multi-arts complex highlighting the rich culture of the State. Named in honor of Saint Vaishnava and the greatest integrator of the Assamese society Srimanta Sankardeva, the Kalakshetra shelters a central museum where everyday objects and articles used by different ethnic groups are exposed. It preserves the cultural identity of various Assam communities and tribes by promoting dance, theater, music and the arts. There is also an artists' village that creates the atmosphere of a typical Assamese community, the Lalit - Kala Bhavan art gallery where exhibitions, art and sculpture workshops, a heritage park, are also organized. an open-air theater that can accommodate 2,000 people. people, a traditional Vaishnavite temple and the Sahitya Bhavan library of rare books and manuscripts.

Visit the Fancy Bazaar.

Day 9: Guwahati / Kaziranga (180 Kms / 3h45)

After breakfast, you head to Kaziranga. The park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, opens its doors to you. Kaziranga is famous for hosting the highest density of one-horned rhinoceroses in the world. The stunning landscapes of savannahs and swamp forests add to the beauty of the place.

Upon arrival, check in at the hotel.

After lunch, the rest of the day is free, you can visit the local markets or relax at the hotel and enjoy the pool.

The next day, two safaris are scheduled, including an early morning elephant-back safari and another jeep safari in the evening.

Day 10: Kaziranga 

Today, early in the morning, you go for an elephant ride in Kaziranga National Park

Afterwards, return to the hotel for breakfast.

In the evening, you will go for a jeep safari.

Day 11: Kaziranga / Guwahati / Delhi (domestic flight)

After breakfast, you head to Guwahati airport to catch your flight to Delhi.

Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel.

Day 12: Delhi

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Delhi international airport for your return flight.
